Water is the foundation of the water phase and solvent for hydrophilic (water-loving) substances.

The pale yellow to clear sunflower oil is a light vegetable oil. It works as a perfect massage oil and it is ideal for the attention of normal and combination skin. Due to its high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, such as linoleic and oleic acid, it is full of skin caring properties and it is suitable as a carrier oil for active substances.

Shea Butter is a semi-solid, butter-like vegetable fat. The skin-friendly Shea Butter is mainly used to improve consistency. It leaves a fine film on the skin, which has smoothing properties and preserves the moisture of the skin.

Glycerin is a natural component of fats and oils, which consist mainly of triglycerides (a combination of glycerin and three fatty acids). The glycerin that Weleda uses is obtained exclusively from plant oils. Glycerin is used as a moisturiser in cosmetic products as it is able to release the water it absorbs. Glycerin also makes oil-in-water emulsions easier to spread and has a smoothing and protecting effect on the skin.

Behenyl Alcohol is a moisture preserving fatty alcohol. Additionally, the fatty alcohol has a stabilizing effect on emulsions.

Isoamyl Laurate is a fatty acid ester that is used as an emollient in emulsions. It helps smooth the skin and can be used as a conditioner in hair care products. Isoamyl Laurate is made from vegetable oils and sugar derivatives.

Viola Tricolor Extract is especially characterised by its long-chain sugars. These form a moisturising and protective layer on the skin. Therefore, the extract is very suitable for the care of dry and sensitive skin.

Rosemary leaves contain the essential rosemary oil, caffeic acid derivatives, flavonoids and triterpenes. Rosemary leaf extracts have a tonic effect. They are suitable as ingredients in skin care products for tired, pale skin.

The yellow-white blossom heads of the camomile flowers contain the essential oils, flavones and cumarins. The extracts of the camomile blossoms have a smoothing effect on the skin and support its regeneration.

Centella asiatica has large amounts of triterpenoids, including asiaticoside which positively affects collagen synthesis. Extracts of centella asiatica have soothing, regenerating and smoothing effects on the skin.

Calendula blossoms have a light- to dark-orange colour and are typical of the Calendula flower. They contain various carotenoids, flavonoids and saponins. Calendula Officinalis Flower Extracts have smoothing properties and support the regeneration of the skin.

Hectorite is a dermatological compatible mineral bulking agent and stabilizer for emulsions, creams, toothpastes, gels or powder. It is a weathering product of various feldspars, which are considered the most important rock-forming minerals of the earth's crust.

Acacia gum is the dried sap of the acacia tree. It consists of long-chain branched carbohydrates. Acacia gum is used as a binder and thickening agent and has a firming effect on the skin.

Lactic Acid is a natural ingredient of the protective acid mantle of the skin. This raw material is used in emulsions to regulate the pH-value.

Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight, long chain carbohydrate (polysaccharide), which is used as a natural gelling agent, emulsion stabilizer, binder and viscosity regulator.
